Self tanner for my face?

I've always been so scared to use self tanner on my face, until today when i purchased some face self tanner. I bought 'Palmers cocoa er formula natural bronze for face' with SPF15. I'm not too sure how it will work on my skin, considering my skin is super pale. Should i use it? The smell is pleasant but i don't know if it will make me orange or not. Any tips for applying it? And also, has anyone tried this product? I would appreciate any tips or experiences with this product that you have. I'm excited! Thanks ^___^
